How we handle your tapes safely

Your tapes are irreplaceable, so the way they are received, handled, stored and returned matters as much as the transfer itself. This is how we work, on every job.

Getting your tapes to us

Wrap each tape and pack the box so nothing rattles in transit. If a tape is already broken, send it as it is rather than winding it back yourself.

  • We accept orders from anywhere in the UK - send your tapes using an insured, tracked postal service such as Royal Mail Special Delivery
  • Drop-off at our London W1 office by arrangement, with full address details confirmed once your booking is agreed
  • Quotes agreed by phone, email or photo before anything is sent, so nothing travels unnecessarily
  • Digital delivery by WeTransfer or download link, or on USB, hard drive or DVD if you prefer

Handling, cleaning and storage

Every item is handled carefully by hand and tapes are surface-cleaned before they go near a deck. Mould-affected tapes are kept separate from the rest of the workflow so nothing else in the building is put at risk.

Tapes are labelled and logged on arrival, kept together as one job, and stored away from heat and damp while they are with us. Your originals come back to you with your digital copies.

Everything done in-house

All transfers are completed in-house in London. Your tapes are not sent to a third party or shipped overseas, so there is one set of hands and one point of contact from the moment they arrive until they go back to you. Recordings are kept on our server for 28 days after delivery and are then deleted.

If your box holds several different formats, see how we handle mixed video tape collections as a single job.
